FACTS / HVDC Engineer

Location – Remote (United States)

Salaries range from $110k-$170k plus 401k, Health Insurance, Vacation, PTO, Bonus Schemes and ESOP plans.

 

About the Client

The client are a global OEM who are looking to expand their team by bringing in this technically minded individual. The role can be based from anywhere in the US with some travel to the office and client sites. There is a great opportunity to work with new and innovating technologies and be involved both technically and on the client side.

 

Key Responsibilities

Work on a variety of generation and transmission types including renewables and HVDC & FACTS.

Perform electrical studies including power flow, short circuit, protection coordination, transient and dynamic, and others using electrical design software such as RTDS, PSCAD, PSSE, PSLF, etc.

Assist in the development of Technical Specifications for our projects.

Support the design of various power generation and transmission systems

Prepare presentations and reports

Write technical papers and present at conferences to demonstrate expertise in the field and engage clients

Support the Business Unit in business development including fostering relationships with existing clients, preparing proposals for new work, identifying market areas and pitching clients

Work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment

Conduct site visits, factory visits, field assessments and client engagement meetings

 

The successful candidate must have / show

Minimum of 3 years’ experience within power systems studies or the utilities industry.

Academic or work experience with PSCAD, RTDS, PSSE, PSLF, EMTP or other related software.

Ability to travel to site.

Past HVDC / FACTS experience is preferred, either professionally or academically.
