  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and legal requirements, including federal, state, and local guidelines for transportation and roadway projects.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and present detailed technical reports, project updates, and presentations to government officials, stakeholders, and the public.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest trends, tools, and technologies in transportation engineering and apply innovative solutions to improve the efficiency and sustainability of transportation systems.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Experience: At least 7-10 years of experience in transportation or roadway design, with a strong emphasis on project management and leadership.
  • PE License: Must be eligible to obtain a Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license within 6 months of hire. Candidates currently holding a Florida PE license are highly preferred.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience managing and mentoring engineering teams, coordinating cross-disciplinary teams, and leading complex, multi-phase projects.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in roadway design, traffic engineering, and transportation planning. Proficient in industry-standard software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, etc.) and transportation modeling tools.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of FDOT and local governmental standards, processes, and regulations.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving: Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills to tackle complex engineering challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Florida PE License: Preference for candidates who already hold a Florida PE license.
  • Experience in Government Projects: Prior experience working on public-sector projects, particularly with state or local government transportation agencies, is a plus.
