Senior Testing & Commissioning Engineer
Location – Illinois, Wisconsin & Michigan – 75% Travel
Salaries range from $110k-$160k plus 401k, Health Insurance, Vacation, PTO, Employee Ownership Plan, Per Diem, Company Vehicle & Bonus Schemes.

Key Responsibilities:
Inspect, test, troubleshoot, commission, and start up control circuits, instrumentation, and high-voltage equipment (up to 765kV).
Perform testing on power circuit breakers, complex relays, and metering devices.
Program, test, and calibrate electro-mechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based protection relays.
Rotate on-call duties for emergency response and address customer emergencies promptly.
Assess test results and compile comprehensive reports, including findings, recommendations, and proposed improvements.
Review and implement electrical design upgrades for utility substations, ensuring adherence to client-specific standards and requirements.
Work closely with customer representatives on-site to identify and meet their needs.
Use engineering expertise and best practices to deliver electrical systems that are safe, reliable, and cost-efficient.
Provide mentorship and guidance to technicians and engineers as required.
The successful candidate must have/show:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5+ years experience in a related field.
Knowledge of the National Electric Code and other industry standards including, OSHA, IEEE, NETA & NFPA.
Previous experience with power utility testing, commissioning projects are preferred.
Experience with SEL and other protection software.
