Project Manager - Roadway Transportation Projects
Location: Indiana (Remote work may be considered)
Job Summary:
Venda Search is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of roadway transportation projects for INDOT. In this role, you will be responsible for leading project teams, managing project budgets and schedules, and ensuring that projects are completed to the satisfaction of both our clients firm and INDOT. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of roadway design and construction processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Initiation:
- Collaborate with INDOT officials and internal stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets in accordance with INDOT requirements and regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
Project Execution and Monitoring:
- Lead project teams through all project phases, providing direction, guidance, and support as needed.
- Monitor project progress against established milestones, budgets, and quality standards.
- Proactively identify and address any issues or challenges that arise during project execution.
Stakeholder Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with INDOT officials, engineering consultants, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
- Communicate project status updates, risks, and opportunities to both internal and external stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
- Address stakeholder concerns and ensure that their needs are effectively met throughout the project lifecycle.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure that all project deliverables meet the high standards set forth by both our client and INDOT.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with contractual requirements, regulatory guidelines, and industry best practices.
- Implement quality assurance processes to identify and address any issues or deficiencies in project deliverables.
Resource Management:
- Allocate resources efficiently to support project objectives, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to optimize resource utilization and minimize project costs.
- Track project expenses and report on budget variances to both [Engineering Firm Name] management and INDOT representatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Indiana is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, preferably within the transportation engineering industry.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on behalf of governmental agencies or similar clients.
- Strong knowledge of INDOT regulations, procedures, and standards.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams in a collaborative environment.
- Proficiency in project management software tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
