Junior Asphalt Estimator | $70k - $90k plus benefits

About Our Client:
We are a recruitment agency working on behalf of a highly respected construction company specializing in asphalt paving projects in the Tampa Bay area. Our client is known for their dedication to quality, safety, and client satisfaction. They are currently seeking an experienced Asphalt Superintendent to join their team and lead asphalt paving operations on various projects.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and review of cost estimates for asphalt paving projects.
- Gather and analyze project data, including site conditions, material quantities, and labor requirements.
- Work closely with senior estimators and project managers to ensure accurate and timely estimates.
- Develop detailed cost breakdowns, including material costs, labor, and equipment.
- Assist in reviewing blueprints, project specifications, and other technical documents.
- Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to obtain necessary information for bids.
- Track project costs and assist in the evaluation of project budgets during execution.
- Support the estimating team in managing multiple bids and project timelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Basic understanding of asphalt paving processes, materials, and construction methods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numbers and data.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Experience with estimating software (e.g., Procore, Bid2Win, etc.) is a plus but not required.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
