Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Manager/Estimator to join our clients team in Tallahassee. The successful candidate will have a robust background in managing and estimating heavy civil, roadway, and pavement projects. This dual role requires a comprehensive understanding of project management principles, cost estimation techniques, and the ability to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all phases of heavy civil, roadway, and pavement projects from inception to completion.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine scope and requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Utilize estimating software and tools to compile and present estimates.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for project execution and cost estimation.
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.
  • Coordinate and lead project meetings, providing updates on project status, budget, and timelines.
  • Mentor and support junior staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in project management and estimating within the heavy civil, roadway, and pavement sectors.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
