Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Manager/Estimator to join our clients team in Tallahassee. The successful candidate will have a robust background in managing and estimating heavy civil, roadway, and pavement projects. This dual role requires a comprehensive understanding of project management principles, cost estimation techniques, and the ability to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all phases of heavy civil, roadway, and pavement projects from inception to completion.
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine scope and requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
- Utilize estimating software and tools to compile and present estimates.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for project execution and cost estimation.
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.
- Coordinate and lead project meetings, providing updates on project status, budget, and timelines.
- Mentor and support junior staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in project management and estimating within the heavy civil, roadway, and pavement sectors.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
