Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Estimate costs for roadway construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets based on project requirements and client specifications.
  • Coordinate with project stakeholders including clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project success.
  • Manage all aspects of roadway construction projects, including procurement, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Lead project meetings and communicate effectively with all project stakeholders to ensure alignment and address concerns.
  • Proactively identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project outcomes.
  • Provide regular project updates and reports to clients and management, highlighting key milestones, issues, and risks.

Candidate Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to accurately estimate project costs and identify potential risks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools, with the ability to develop and manage project schedules and budgets.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
  • Knowledge of roadway construction materials, methods, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards for roadway construction projects.
  • Experience in project management and estimation in the construction industry, particularly in roadway projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; however, support is available for candidates to obtain any required licenses or certifications they may be currently missing.
  • Proven experience in roadway construction project management and estimation, with a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Familiarity with FDOT standards and specifications for roadway construction projects in Florida is a plus.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) preferred; however, support is available for candidates to obtain any required certifications they may be currently missing.
